Working with Deaf Survivor and Their Culture

Our workshop goal to provide the accessibility knowledge for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing survivor for the general agencies. This workshop will help the agencies to understand their culture and lead to understand their accessibility needs. This topic will included the understanding their Deaf Culture, provide the interpreter and other devices and the visual/physical space when work with Deaf survivor. The workshop activity of scenario will let audience to understand the different of American Sign Language to English. The workshop will encourage the general agencies to collaboration with the Deaf Domestic Violence agency for their co-advocacy program and DOVE in Colorado.
