Lessons learned from Domestic Violence Fatality Review

We know that the most severe and lethal form of domestic violence is homicide. The Denver Metro Domestic Violence Fatality Review Team, comprised of 25 to 30 members with representation from law enforcement, victim service agencies, prosecution, offender treatment, medical professionals, public health disciplines, and other appropriate fields, convenes monthly to review cases of domestic violence fatalities that have occurred in the Denver metro. The information gleaned from this multi-disciplinary team review process is utilized to assess lethality risk, risk mitigation, and develop recommendations for future interventions.
