Intergenerational Trauma and the Integration of Creative Family Curriculum

This presentation explores the design and implementation of a holistic family program, utilizing a whole system approach to intergenerational trauma healing and community engagement for young victims in two groups age (5-8) and (9-12) as well as a caregiver's group. The curriculum is a developmentally appropriate, socio and emotional, multilingual and multicultural, strength-based and trauma-informed application of art, talk, and horticulture therapies. Using hands-on activities in conjunction with caregivers learning parallel practices such as, coping skills, strengthen relationships with self and others, establish boundaries, connect with their roots, promote violence prevention and social justice.
