Innovating for Safety in Rural Support Groups

In Rural communities and small town life, the human living experience is often intertwined, entangled, and often everyone's business. Curating safe space to create support groups that provide change, learning and community is difficult and can be a challenge. Survivor safety is key to sustaining those groups when resources are limited in providing them. This workshop focuses on the innovative work our agency has done with survivors to create sustainable abundance in our support groups for our agency and survivors of domestic violence and sex assault. Groups that have expanded beyond the primary survivor to support children, youth and families to navigate post trauma surviving into thriving.
