Community-led Solutions to Address Human Trafficking in Rural and Urban Colorado
Human trafficking disproportionately affects historically oppressed and marginalized communities. Yet, the persistent narrative is that trafficking involves kidnapping and happens only to young females. We must change this narrative, because we are missing it. In three rural regions of Colorado, we are building a community response to trafficking by inundating them with training with a social justice and oppression lens; breaking down silos and building trust; and cultivating sustainable partnerships.
